The Historic Griley House
History of the Griley Home
This stately home was built during the1920’s and for many years it was the home of T.D. and Emma Griley. Mrs. Griley donated the home to become the Baltimore Library. The library was housed on the first floor and the second floor became an apartment.
During its infancy, the Baltimore Community Museum was housed in the basement of the Griley House. The library soon became too small for the community, and a new library was built next door. The Griley House then became part of the Baltimore Community Museum.
A new building was constructed for the museum in 1984, and the Baltimore Community Museum now uses the Griley House for special events and rentals.
This is the perfect venue for a special event, such as a bridal or baby shower, retirement party, graduation party, or family gathering.
